  • Supporting Older People

    Thinking about challenges someone with dementia might face. This video explains ways of approaching and communicating with someone who may be living with dementia. It gives brief knowledge regarding the condition and suggests ways that may be beneficial to you when in a position where you may have to communicate with someone living with dementia. Produced by members of the Forest of Dean Dementia Action Alliance, and also supported by One Gloucestershire and the Gloucestershire Dementia Action Alliance (Countywide).

  • Dog Days

    Dog Therapy for those living with dementia is incredibly important. After a pilot project with Dogs for Good, Crossroads Care Gloucestershire helped to make a group like this sustainable for those with cognitive impairment and dementia. We have some great volunteers who have committed to having their dogs trained to become the comfort that some people need when they visit.

    Here is a selection of videos from Dementia Action Alliance Gloucestershire, We work within the Community to provide a bottom up and top down support network for anyone who has been touched by dementia, and also have a huge network of those who wish to help with becoming dementia friendly, and all inclusive. These are single people, volunteers, community groups, businesses and organisations.

  • Mindscape

    mindSCAPE is a Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty project (funded by the Big Lottery from 2014-2018). The project is delivered by Cinderford Artspace in partnership with the Forest of Dean District Council and the Forestry Commission. The aim of the project is to improve the well-being of people with dementia and their carers, by connecting creatively to nature.
