Andy Squiff - Inspiral Flowstate - Qi Gong and Breathwork

I am based in the Forest of dean and offer weekly Qi Gong and Soma breathwork sessions, this coupling offers a powerful combination that supports physical, emotional, and cognitive health. I have worked with the FODDAA on a number of design projects and over the years become dementia aware and keen to make changes in my own life. I am passionate about breathwork and qi gong and use these tools to maintain my mental and physical health as I get older. I am excited that my classes not only promote stress relief and relaxation in the short term but also address key risk factors for dementia and neurodegenerative diseases, empowering individuals to maintain vibrant brain health over the long term.

As we get older we need to listen to our body and stimulate our minds to maintain optimum health. I have listed some of the benefits below, if you would like to find out more visit www.inspiralflowstate.co.uk

1. Enhanced Oxygenation and Blood Flow

Qi Gong's gentle movements and Soma Breath's rhythmic breathing both improve blood circulation and oxygen delivery to the brain. This ensures brain cells receive essential nutrients, reducing the risk of cognitive decline linked to poor circulation.

2. Stress Reduction and Emotional Balance

Both practices activate the parasympathetic nervous system, inducing a state of deep relaxation. By lowering cortisol levels and managing chronic stress, they help protect against stress-related brain aging and inflammation.

3. Neuroplasticity and Cognitive Stimulation

Qi Gong and Soma Breath enhance neuroplasticity by engaging the mind in focused, meditative activities. These practices promote mental agility, improve memory, and support the brain's ability to form and reorganize neural connections.

4. Improved Detoxification and Cellular Health

Soma Breath's breath retention phases facilitate the removal of toxins and waste products from the brain, while Qi Gong movements support lymphatic flow and cellular detoxification. Together, they help maintain a clean and healthy environment for brain cells.

5. Better Sleep Quality

Qi Gong calms the body, and Soma Breath regulates the nervous system, promoting deep, restorative sleep. Quality sleep is essential for clearing amyloid plaques and other waste products associated with neurodegenerative diseases.

6. Reduction in Inflammation

Both practices are known to reduce markers of systemic inflammation, which is a significant contributor to dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions.

7. Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health

Qi Gong and Soma Breath improve cardiovascular function, lower blood pressure, and regulate blood sugar levels, all of which are critical for brain health and reducing the risk of vascular dementia.

8. Focus, Mindfulness, and Emotional Well-Being

By cultivating present-moment awareness and emotional balance, these practices strengthen brain regions associated with attention, memory, and mood regulation. This holistic approach fosters resilience against cognitive decline.
