Lyndon Biddle

Lyndon is Chief Executive with Newent Association for the Disabled. They run a day care centre for the elderly (many of who have dementia), based in Newent, called Sheppard House. They also run a dementia friendly transport service in the north of the Forest of Dean (the south is covered by Lydney Dial a Ride). This service operates door to door and is wheelchair accessible. Lyndon has worked in the charitable sector for nearly thirty years, the last ten at Newent and previously with Remploy.

Sheppard House gives older people a safe environment to make friends and socialise. A freshly cooked two course lunch is provided and transport can be arranged. This operates Monday to Thursday and on Friday there are fully inclusive craft-based activities such as pottery, willow weaving and art classes. In addition, there is also a gentle exercise class on Friday mornings.

When not at work Lyndon loves playing and watching a wide range of sport such as football, rugby and tennis.
